Security Engineer

Salary: £40,000 - 55,000 per year

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of multi-network exposure, including hands-on experience designing and managing secure networks
• Experience with Cisco firewalls, routers, and switches
• Knowledge of compliance standards such as ISO27001 and ITIL
• Experience with security toolsets including SIEM and IDS/IPS
• Experience with penetration testing tools
• Experience with Juniper platforms
• Must hold, or be able to easily achieve, SC Security Clearance
• Excellent organisation with a proactive, can-do attitude
• Excellent interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail
• Desirable: telecommunications background with knowledge of satcom and/or maritime communications
• Desirable: experience with UK MOD/Government networks

Responsibilities:

• Develop information security plans and policies
• Implement protections and solutions to ensure and enforce information security plans and policies
• Act as a centre of excellence for network and device security
• Design, build, test, commission, and troubleshoot security solutions including IDS/IPM/SIEM
• Write and maintain configuration and reconfiguration documentation, schematics, support guides, and other required documentation
