Salary: £63,000 - 103,000 per year

Requirements:

• Experience building scalable backend systems with Python and Flask, and working with databases and cloud services.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools; ability to learn and use other technologies such as Go or Ruby as needed.
• An owners mindset, with initiative, urgency, and the ability to take problems from start to finish in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
• Ability to collaborate and communicate asynchronously on a distributed team across time zones.
• Product and customer focus, with the ability to contribute opinions on product direction and design while respecting others perspectives.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and launch backend features and services that help restaurant partners operate efficiently and serve their customers.
• Identify opportunities for small technical changes to deliver substantial value to users and partners.
• Own projects from concept through production, working with product, design, and other teams to define solutions, deliver them, and iterate on feedback.
• Choose appropriate technologies to solve problems in a scalable way.
• Collaborate with a small, distributed backend engineering team through code reviews and idea-sharing.
• Apply coding, testing, monitoring, and DevOps best practices to maintain reliable, performant services, including writing unit tests and improving logging and alerting.

This Staff Software Developer role is on our Services team. The position is remote and open to applicants throughout the UK; our physical office is in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Youll work with a team of 5–8 backend engineers across the US, UK, and Europe.
