Job Description

Salary: £19,500 - 35,500 per year

Requirements:
  • Experience in bespoke software delivery as part of an agile team working for an external customer; client-facing consulting experience is essential.
  • UK public sector experience, preferably central government.
  • Experience across the software development lifecycle, from analysis through to acceptance, launch, and live operations.
  • Excellent workshop facilitation skills, with the ability to lead stakeholder groups toward focused outcomes.
  • Experience modelling as-is and to-be business processes and presenting them to stakeholders and the team to build understanding and buy-in.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to challenge decisions appropriately and adapt collaboration and communication styles.
  • Experience breaking down work from inception through delivery and managing team backlogs with quality and maturity.
  • Experience eliciting functional, technical, and non-functional requirements and translating them into clear user stories.
  • Ability to use prioritisation techniques to refine the backlog and manage dependencies.
  • Proven ability to manage scope to meet the required MVP and ensure value delivery.
  • Ability to work within commercial constraints such as cost restrictions and project deadlines.
  • Excellent user story writing skills, ensuring quality and consistency across the project.
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships inside and outside the delivery team and collaborate on work breakdown.
  • Experience contributing to sales activities such as bids and sales proposals.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, with the ability to mentor team members and coach clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, coach, and develop junior members of the team and wider community.
  • Ability to explain technical jargon to non-technical and commercial teams.
Responsibilities:
  • Own team backlog maturity and take features from inception through to delivery.
  • Drive MVP thinking and communicate its value to the team, project stakeholders, and wider project team.
  • Lead the team and run agile ceremonies, encouraging engagement and discussion.
  • Plan and run workshops with a variety of stakeholders to facilitate consensus in areas of uncertainty.
  • Participate actively in the Product capability and support delivery initiatives.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a small number of staff, with a focus on employee performance.
