Power Intent / UPF Engineer

Salary: £45,000 - 80,000 per year

Requirements:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Solid understanding of power intent concepts, including voltage islands, power domains, power states, and power control architectures.
• Proficiency in UPF 2.0/2.1/3.0/3.1 (Unified Power Format) and experience in low power formal verification.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Proven track record with power intent definition and verification.
• Ability to demonstrate new insights and communicate them effectively.
• Familiarity with formal verification tools such as Conformal LP for power intent verification.
• Strong scripting skills, for example Tcl, Perl, Python, or YAML, for automating tasks like power intent rendering.
• Knowledge of Arm-based SoCs.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with multifunctional teams to define and implement power intent specifications for System-on-Chip (SoC) designs.
• Produce, maintain, and validate complex UPF (Unified Power Format) files to describe power domains, power states, retention strategies, level shifters, and isolation.
• Produce, maintain, merge, and validate UPF across different hierarchical domains.
• Investigate tradeoffs involved with the Power Domain Network (PDN) and power distribution across the chip with respect to the power intent.
• Enable our partners to achieve the best possible quality of results.
