Network Security Engineer - Reading

Requirements:

• Active SC Security Clearance
• Strong hands-on experience with F5, Zscaler, and Palo Alto technologies
• Experience with Check Point, Juniper, Bluecoat, and Cisco network solutions
• Telecoms industry sector experience preferred
• Knowledge of Cisco IPT, QoS, 802.1x, Infoblox DNS, switches, wireless, VPNs (IPsec, SSL VPN, DMVPN), and WAN routing protocols is advantageous

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical ownership of the customer security infrastructure estate, including processes, procedures, documentation, and lifecycle management
• Act as the technical point of reference and escalation for security-related changes, modifications, and firewall rule base projects
• Serve as the technical contact for vendor support on security infrastructure incidents
• Design customer networks and support High Level Design (HLD) and Low Level Design (LLD)
• Provide technical support and change management for hard physical changes and soft remote changes
• Manage customer inventory, hardware, software, and end-of-life activities

We are a global IT consultancy supporting a leading telecoms end client on a 6-month contract. This is a UK remote/hybrid role with the vast majority of the work expected to be remote, although occasional travel to UK customer sites in Warwick, Wokingham, Corsham, and Farnborough may be required. The contract is outside IR35 and is due to start as soon as possible in August or September 2026.
