LLVM Compiler Engineer

Salary: £45,500 - 73,500 per year

Requirements:

• We are seeking a Senior or Principal-level candidate with working rights in the UK.
• We require in-depth knowledge of the LLVM compiler.
• We require knowledge of the C/C++ Clang frontend.
• We require knowledge of high-level hardware microarchitecture and its effects on software performance.
• We value a flexible, adaptable approach, a desire to learn, and an interest in positively influencing others technical development.
• We consider experience with RISC-V technologies, implementing complex software security technologies in a compiler (such as CHERI), Rust language compiler experience, and effective communication with technical and management audiences highly desirable.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and enhance our LLVM compiler to support our standard and customized embedded CPU cores, including RISC-V cores, custom hardware extensions, and new processor architectures developed using our Studio EDA tool.
• Provide compiler expertise to our Embedded Software engineers to help optimize software.
• Advise our processor design teams on compiler considerations to guide microarchitectural design and optimization.
• Explore compiler technology for novel compute architectures and technologies.
• Work with our Codasip Studio EDA tool compiler team to improve the tools compiler.
• Provide expert software advice to internal and external customers.
• Share knowledge and experience within the team and mentor more junior team members.
• Develop capabilities, skills, and processes across our wider Embedded Software team.
• Contribute to both short-term customer-driven projects and longer-term strategic software products.
