Lead Software Engineer

Salary: £46,000 - 74,000 per year

Requirements:

• 5+ years of software development experience, including demonstrable experience in a SaaS-oriented development environment.
• Familiarity with new technologies and the judgment to determine when they are appropriate.
• Ability to think iteratively and within architectural boundaries.
• Track record of delivering agile software development using appropriate tools.
• Clear understanding of DevOps and its benefits to development teams; exposure to DevSecOps.
• Experience with AWS native services, Azure, and microservices, including Azure FaaS and .NET Core.
• Experience with development tools such as Azure DevOps, Confluence, and GitHub.
• Experience driving AI-assisted engineering practices.
• Experience with tools and technologies including VS Code, Visual Studio, Rider, ReSharper, Jira, .NET, C#, ASP.NET, REST/SOAP services, WebAPI, JavaScript, React.js, Redux, JWT, Storybook, Jest, Enzyme, SQL Server, Dapper, Log4Net, Autofac, MSTest, ADO, Git, Octopus Deploy, SpecFlow, Selenium WebDriver, JMeter, and Gherkin.
• Ability to gather customer feedback and use it to inform decisions.
• Ability to take ownership of issues and work with relevant people to resolve them.
• Ability to coach and provide technical leadership to less experienced team members.

• Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical topics to different audiences.

• Design and implement effective ways to store and display complex data.
• Write excellent, extensible code that follows coding, commenting, and best-practice standards; build reusable components where possible.
• Use TDD and BDD approaches to writing code.
• Advise Product Owners on the practicality of solution alternatives, balancing technical limitations and operational realities, and provide recommendations.
• Take on the roles required within an agile development team to design, build, and deploy applications in line with business needs and priorities.
• Introduce AI-driven enhancements where they deliver measurable value.
