Japanese Speaking IT Support Officer

Salary: £30,000 - 32,500 per year

Requirements:

• Professional working proficiency in both Japanese and English
• A relevant degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or another technology-related subject
• Practical IT experience gained through employment, an internship, a placement, or hands-on training
• A good foundation in Windows, Microsoft 365, hardware, and networking
• An understanding of cloud technologies such as Microsoft Intune, Entra ID, or Azure
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• An approachable and professional communication style
• Good organisation and attention to detail
• Microsoft or networking certifications are beneficial but not essential
• Exposure to PowerShell, Power BI, cybersecurity, or IT service-management processes is useful

Responsibilities:

• Provide first-line technical support remotely and in person
• Support colleagues in Japanese and English
• Communicate with Japanese-speaking stakeholders to understand technical problems and explain solutions
• Set up, configure, and maintain laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and other equipment
• Support Windows and Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive
• Assist with user onboarding and offboarding, including account creation and equipment preparation
• Support device and account administration through Microsoft Intune and Entra ID
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, connectivity, and peripheral issues
• Maintain accurate IT asset, hardware, and software records
• Carry out routine maintenance, system checks, and updates
• Assist with technology projects, deployments, and upgrades
• Produce and maintain IT documentation, procedures, and user guides
• Liaise with external technology providers and vendors
• Escalate complex technical issues to senior colleagues or external support partners
• Help maintain good cybersecurity practices across the organisation
• Provide occasional support outside normal office hours when required
