IT Engineer

Salary: £40,000 - 72,000 per year

Requirements:

• Good general understanding of IT principles, including networks, hardware, and domains
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Lotus applications
• Good working knowledge of Windows 10/11 and related software and applications
• Strong experience troubleshooting End User Computing (EUC) hardware and software
• Knowledge of mobile devices, particularly BlackBerry and iPhone
• Experience building, configuring, replacing, and troubleshooting EUC hardware
• Good understanding of data backup techniques
• Familiarity with virtual environments, Mobile Device Management (MDM), and VPN technologies
• Familiarity with Microsoft SCCM is advantageous
• Knowledge of ITIL and experience working within an ITIL environment
• Experience using ServiceNow
• Excellent customer-facing and communication skills

Responsibilities:

• Deliver day-to-day business-as-usual services across in-scope customer sites during local business hours
• Provide field services technical support, including break/fix and printer support
• Support locker and vending machine services, including stocking and restocking
• Carry out stock management and asset management activities
• Support shipping, disposal, and data wiping services
• Provide break/fix support, RAID support, mobility support, and business continuity planning support
• Deliver IMAC services, including install, move, add, and change activities
• Provide general end-user technical support
• Support audio-visual systems and equipment in meeting rooms, training rooms, visualization and 3D rooms, collaboration areas, common areas, and offsite locations and events
• Maintain accurate and timely records for configuration items and peripherals managed under the service
• Provide support for shipping, secure disposal, and certified data wiping in line with customer processes and security requirements
• Deliver priority support to VIP users
• Provide operational support during dawn raid events
• Support mobile devices and mobility-related services
• Assist with disaster recovery, BCP emergency response, annual BCP testing, cyber BCP exercises, and incident response activities
• Work remotely where applicable for part of the service

We are seeking two short-term onsite Backfill Engineers for assignments in Southampton. These are inside IR35 contract roles with a pay rate of £180 per day. We require candidates with a valid manual driving licence and access to their own car due to the site location. Shortlisted candidates will attend an interview before onboarding, and we require full cooperation with our comprehensive vetting process, including Sterling background verification and site onboarding. Engineers will also need the required PPE before accessing the customer site.
