Infrastructure Engineering Specialist

Salary: £36,000 - 67,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require DV (Developed Vetting) level Security Clearance.
• We require you to have lived in the UK for 10+ years to obtain clearance.
• We are looking for technical skills and experience in some of the following technologies or similar: VMWare / virtualisation, including ESX, vCentre and vCF.
• We are looking for Windows / Linux / Mac server or system management experience.
• We are looking for containers / Kubernetes / VKS experience.
• We are looking for NSX V&T networking experience.
• We are looking for storage management experience.
• We are looking for experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, Python or Java.
• We are looking for experience with automated system build tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, Foreman, Kickstart (including PXE) and Microsoft Deployment Toolkits.
• We are looking for IaC, infrastructure automation and orchestration experience, ideally on VMWare.
• We are looking for business acumen, including contributing to BT Engineering strategy and influencing BT technical policy.
• We are looking for the ability to creatively apply a wide range of technical and management principles.
• We are looking for experience performing highly complex work activities covering technical, financial and quality aspects.

Responsibilities:

• We manage the implementation of high-level designs for stable network and infrastructure environments that meet BTs needs, are shared with partners, and comply with current security, privacy and audit requirements.
• We lead the maintenance of IT infrastructure components, tools or locations, and execute designs on services such as network, security, storage and compute in line with design standards.
• We provide advanced technical knowledge and expertise to support managers, principals or technical experts in resolving complex issues.
• We lead collaboration with stakeholders across application development, enterprise architecture, infrastructure and cyber security teams to implement an effective product roadmap.
• We lead day-to-day support for internal tools and system health, as well as infrastructure implemented for all projects and managing customer support contracts.
