ICT Security Lead

Salary: £90,000 - 90,000 per year

Requirements:

• Proven experience in IT security, preferably with a focus on cloud security and defence environments.
• Strong knowledge of UK Ministry of Defence security frameworks and Defence Cyber Protection Partnership requirements.
• Experience conducting risk assessments, accreditation processes, and preparing security cases for defence contracts.
• Experience working with native cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
• Ability to engage confidently with MOD accreditors, internal product teams, and executive leadership.
• Self-starter with the ability to take ownership, define objectives, and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

• We are responsible for IT security across the Group within our IT team.
• We manage UK Ministry of Defence security frameworks and Defence Cyber Protection Partnership requirements.
• We secure native cloud environments, including AWS and Azure, without legacy on-premise infrastructure.
• We lead risk assessments, accreditation processes, and security case preparation for defence contracts.
• We liaise directly with MOD accreditors, internal product teams, and executive leadership.
• We shape and define the IT security function, establishing measurable objectives and improving our approach over time.
• We challenge the status quo and support the safe adoption of technology across our organisation.

We are hiring a newly created IT Security Lead role reporting to our Head of IT. This position sits within our IT team and is focused on IT security across the Group, with responsibility for defence compliance, cloud security strategy, risk management, and stakeholder engagement. We are looking for a self-starter who can take ownership, shape the function, and bring a fresh perspective to cloud security while supporting the safe adoption of technology across our organisation.
