Head of Software Engineering

Salary: £51,000 - 91,000 per year

Requirements:

• Experienced in customer management, billing, subscription, provisioning, data or integration platforms
• Experience leading engineering with the Salesforce platform
• Experienced engineering leader with a strong software engineering and platform transformation background
• Able to lead teams through ambiguity, change, prioritisation challenges and competing demand
• Strong coach and mentor, developing technical, leadership and delivery capability across teams
• Builds inclusive, collaborative, learning, high-performing cultures focused on accountability and improvement
• Experienced in complex environments where availability, scale, security and customer impact matter
• Strong grounding in software engineering, systems integration, SDLC, automation, release and operations
• Comfortable working with strategic partners, system integrators and mixed delivery models
• Strong experience of agile, scaled delivery and modern operating models
• Proven track record in platform modernisation, legacy reduction, technical debt and sustainable roadmaps
• To be eligible for this role, you are required to have the appropriate right to work in the UK

• Inspire, coach and lead engineering teams with clear ownership, quality focus and a strong engineering culture
• Own the platform evolution engineering strategy and roadmap aligned to Sky Business priorities
• Establish modern engineering practices across design, build, test, release and operations
• Assure technical design quality, engineering standards and solution integrity across squads and partners
• Ensure solutions are secure, resilient, scalable and meet functional and non-functional requirements
• Lead pragmatic platform modernisation, reducing legacy risk while balancing resilience, cost and delivery
• Partner with Architecture, Product, Delivery and Operations
• Get the best out of Salesforce capabilities for Sky Business and shape solutions that delight customers
• Ensure engineering embraces meaningful AI capabilities at speed and scale
