Job Description
Salary: £119,600 - 127,400 per year
Requirements:- We require 5 years experience working with enterprise middleware technologies, including several of: IBM WebSphere, IBM MQ, Apache Tomcat, WebLogic, NGINX, and Node.js.
- We require a strong background in middleware security and secure configuration management.
- We require experience working with CIS Benchmarks.
- We require previous experience leading technical teams.
- We require strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- We require the ability to translate technical concepts into business-focused outcomes.
- CISSP or an equivalent security certification is desirable.
- Experience within large-scale enterprise environments is desirable.
- We define and maintain secure configuration standards across middleware technologies including WebSphere, IBM MQ, Apache Tomcat, WebLogic, NGINX, and Node.js.
- We drive middleware security compliance and remediation activities.
- We develop platform strategy, roadmaps, and improvement plans.
- We manage and prioritise platform backlogs based on business value and risk.
- We monitor platform health, performance, and compliance metrics.
- We collaborate with architecture, security, and technology teams to support ongoing platform evolution.
- We provide technical leadership and guidance to stakeholders across the organisation.

We are recruiting for a Head of Middleware Platform based in Sheffield, with 3 days onsite per week, on an Inside IR35 day rate of £465.00 - £495.00. This is an excellent opportunity for a middleware leader to shape platform strategy, improve security posture, and drive operational excellence across a critical technology estate.
