Game Designer - Charing Cross

Salary: £61,000 - 101,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree or equivalent practical experience.
• We require 5 years of game design experience, including work on one or more shipped commercial titles.
• We require experience architecting agentic workflows and implementing generative AI models within a game production or software development pipeline.
• We require experience leading experimental design projects or research and development initiatives.
• We require experience with UI/UX systems or mechanics focused on player accessibility and cognitive load management.
• We require experience prototyping with industry-standard game engines, such as Unity or Unreal, or scripting languages, such as C# or Python.
• We prefer experience developing games for multiple platforms using Unity, Godot, Unreal, or similar tools.
• We prefer quality assurance experience.
• We prefer UI/UX design experience.
• We value the ability to learn new skills and adapt to changing technology and opportunities.
• We value excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities:

• Inspire others with creative work that meets the constraints of a brief.
• Build, playtest, and iterate on interactive proofs of concept using traditional game engines and generative AI systems.
• Work with researchers, engineers, and designers to find creative solutions and achieve project goals.
• Lead design workshops and brainstorming sessions to uncover novel AI applications across genres, from sandbox simulation to emergent narratives.
• Translate high-level AI capabilities into elegant game mechanics, intuitive player loops, and compelling interactive systems.
• Design core loops, mechanics, and gameplay systems that would be fundamentally impossible without AI.
• Bridge machine learning research and player-facing experiences by turning abstract AI capabilities into tangible game prototypes.
