Job Description

Salary: £66,000 - 106,000 per year

Requirements:
  • You have a PhD in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, or a relevant field.
  • You have development experience in EDA algorithms and tools.
  • You have an excellent understanding of digital physical implementation and advanced CMOS technologies.
  • You are a proficient user of EDA tools such as Cadence and/or Synopsys.
  • You understand advanced semiconductor fabrication processes and devices.
  • You are detail-oriented and comfortable with critical thinking and decision-making in changing R&D demands.
  • You are a capable coder who uses versioning and documentation effectively.
  • You care deeply about customer satisfaction and the quality of delivered results.
  • You are a strong team player and a good communicator.
  • For imec UK, this position is open only to candidates who already hold a valid UK residence permit or work authorization.
Responsibilities:
  • We design and develop EDA approaches to address current limitations in industrial and open-source tools for advanced CMOS technologies.
  • We focus on addressing EDA challenges within a CMOS 2.0 context.
  • We work on fine-grain 3D integration of heterogeneous technologies, covering challenges across the EDA spectrum from logic synthesis to thermal modelling.
  • We ensure accurate and trustworthy DTCO research in technology and design contexts that are not yet optimized by state-of-the-art EDA.
  • We contribute to imecs pathfinding activities by incorporating an EDA optimization and development perspective.
  • We work with imec partners to disseminate EDA and technology insights.
  • We interact with universities to further develop EDA solutions that leverage novel technology capabilities.
