Salary: £25,000 - 65,000 per year

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Frontend Developer or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of frontend technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, and Next.js.
• Familiarity with databases and search indexes, including Elasticsearch and SQL-like databases.
• Knowledge of version control systems, especially Git.
• Understanding of cloud platforms and deployment strategies.
• Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Experience with PyGeoAPI is desirable.
• Experience with Jira and Confluence is desirable.
• SC clearance or eligibility for SC clearance.

Responsibilities:

• Develop responsive, accessible, and high-quality user interfaces using Next.js, React, and TypeScript.
• Collaborate with design and product teams to create intuitive user experiences.
• Develop user experiences backed by internal APIs and search indexes.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure high-quality software.
• Maintain and update existing applications, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements.
• Write technical documentation and assist in defining project requirements.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and automated testing to streamline deployment processes.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices in frontend development.

We are seeking a Frontend Developer for a 6-month contract in Exeter, with a hybrid working arrangement of 1 or 2 days per week in our Exeter office. This is a competitive day-rate role within scope of IR35, and we require SC clearance or eligibility for SC clearance. The successful candidate will work across the full software development lifecycle in a mixed cloud environment using Azure and AWS, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business objectives.
