Data Science Manager, Networks Data & AI

Salary: £36,000 - 67,000 per year

Requirements:

• Proven experience applying machine learning, AI and statistical techniques to solve complex, real-world business problems, with the ability to take a challenge from problem definition through to implementation and measurable outcomes.
• Hands-on expertise in Python and modern data science techniques, supported by a strong foundation in mathematics, statistics and analytics.
• Comfortable working with large-scale datasets and developing data-driven solutions.
• Experience leading, coaching and developing technical teams, with the ability to create high-performing environments, manage challenging situations and support colleagues to grow and succeed.
• Experience working within large, complex or regulated organisations.
• Knowledge of telecommunications, networking, broadband, voice, TV or related infrastructure domains.
• Experience deploying and operationalising machine learning solutions in cloud environments such as AWS or GCP.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, including influencing senior audiences and translating technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience driving data-driven transformation or establishing new AI and analytics capabilities within an organisation.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop a team of data scientists and analysts, creating an inclusive and high-performing environment where people can thrive.
• Translate complex business challenges into practical data science solutions using machine learning, AI and advanced statistical techniques.
• Design, build and deploy scalable data products that support strategic decision-making across Networks and BT Group.
• Work with large-scale network datasets to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, performance and customer outcomes.
• Collaborate with engineering, architecture, product and business stakeholders to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Communicate complex technical findings through compelling data storytelling, visualisation and clear recommendations.
• Drive innovation and help shape the future direction of Data Science and AI within BT Networks.
