Job Description

Salary: £61,000 - 101,000 per year

Requirements:
  • We are looking for someone with an interest in cyber security.
  • We need a proactive approach to investigating data in a work or educational environment.
  • We need demonstrable ability to analyse and interpret data.
  • We need effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • We need knowledge of Common Security Vulnerabilities (CVEs) and remediation techniques.
  • We need solid operational knowledge of working with Threat Intelligence Platforms, SIEM appliances, or intelligence feeds acquired in large organisations.
  • We need experience with large LANs and cloud environments, preferably AWS or Azure.
  • We will require you to meet the security clearance requirements for the role.
Responsibilities:
  • We will expect you to monitor, triage, and investigate security alerts on protective monitoring platforms to identify security incidents.
  • We will expect you to analyse security event data to support response, reporting, and escalation where appropriate.
  • We will expect you to design, develop, and support automated monitoring processes using SIEM and network analysis tools, techniques, and procedures.
  • We will expect you to carry out response policies and processes in line with appropriate standards.
  • We will expect you to provide standardised advice on mitigation and escalate to a team leader where appropriate.
  • We will expect you to triage and prioritise vulnerabilities, implement mitigating measures, and support the vulnerability management lifecycle.
  • We will expect you to communicate common mitigation strategies such as patching and basic configuration changes.
  • We will expect you to support forensic readiness policy and work with other teams to help implement it.
  • We will expect you to analyse evidence to identify breaches of policy, regulation, or law.
  • We will expect you to build strong operational relationships with internal cyber security, technology, and privacy teams.
  • We will expect you to work flexibly in a fast-paced, reactive cyber security operations environment.
