Cyber Security Analyst

Salary: £26,500 - 28,000 per year

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a cyber security role
• Experience with cyber incidents and monitoring tools such as SIEM is desirable
• CompTIA Security+ is desirable
• Experience in incident triaging and response
• Experience with the Microsoft security stack, including XDR, Defender for Cloud, and Defender for Endpoint
• Knowledge of Office 365
• Experience with vulnerability scanning tools
• Networking experience, including patching and a basic understanding of TCP/IP
• Strong attention to detail and presentation skills
• Ability to demonstrate initiative and ownership of tasks and projects
• Ability to prioritise, coordinate, and complete tasks to meet deadlines
• Basic knowledge of threats, vulnerabilities, prevention techniques, and countermeasures
• Basic knowledge of log analysis, forensic investigations, and troubleshooting
• Desirable qualifications include CEH, ISC2 CC, ISC2 SSCP, MS SC-200, and MS SC-900
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to correlate events
• Broad IT experience with a basic understanding of technologies and processes for protective monitoring and vulnerability management
• Analytical approach to problem solving
• Good knowledge of IT and an understanding of cyber defence
• Excellent communication skills and willingness to learn new skills

Responsibilities:

• Work as part of our Bedford team to deliver protection and monitoring of IT systems
• Support our customers by investigating attacks and threats
• Deliver a protection service through reactive and proactive monitoring
• Create documentation and handouts to advise users on best practice
• Investigate issues and manage threats
• Act as a technical adviser to other team members
• Assist in investigations and escalations of security violations, unauthorized access attempts, virus infections, and other security-related events
• Roll out security platforms to customers to ensure systems are up to date and protected
• Configure and monitor security technologies including anti-virus, email filtering, and web filtering
• Maintain an up-to-date understanding of the current threat landscape
• Manage the IT Security ticket queue and take ownership of tickets through to resolution in line with ITIL and SLA targets
• Work with IT teams as necessary to resolve assigned tickets
• Input data accurately and follow tasks through to completion
