BI Developer

Salary: £40,000 - 50,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
• We require significant demonstrable experience delivering high-quality reporting and BI solutions using the Microsoft SQL Server BI stack, including SSMS, SSRS, SSIS and SSDT/Visual Studio.
• We require significant technical Business Intelligence and reporting experience, ideally including end-to-end data warehouse development.
• We require practical experience of technical design for end-to-end Business Intelligence solutions.
• We require experience producing and maintaining technical, functional and business documentation.
• We require experience delivering MI/BI solutions to different business functions, such as Finance, Sales, Partnerships and Marketing.
• We require experience providing technical support for existing reports, dashboards and BI tools.
• We require the ability to understand existing processes, legacy databases and complex data environments.

Responsibilities:

• We design, develop and maintain robust Business Intelligence, reporting and data warehouse solutions.
• We develop reporting and dashboard solutions using the Microsoft SQL Server BI technology stack.
• We design and develop ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
• We develop and maintain reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
• We use SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and SSDT/Visual Studio for BI development and database-related activities.
• We analyse business requirements and translate them into effective technical BI solutions.
• We work with business teams including Finance, Sales, Partnerships and Marketing to understand reporting and information requirements.
• We provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing reports, dashboards, data processes and BI tools.
• We understand and work with existing processes, legacy databases and established reporting solutions.
• We contribute to the technical design of end-to-end BI and data warehouse solutions.
• We develop and maintain appropriate functional, technical and business documentation.
• We implement data-quality processes, validation rules and data-health monitoring.
• We investigate data-quality issues and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
• We support testing, deployment, maintenance and continuous improvement of BI solutions.
• We apply appropriate development standards, best practices and source-control processes.
• We prioritise competing activities and deliver accurate, high-quality solutions within agreed timescales.

We are seeking an experienced and technically capable BI Developer to design, develop, maintain and support high-quality Business Intelligence, reporting and data warehouse solutions. The successful candidate will work across the full BI development lifecycle, from understanding business requirements and source systems through to data modelling, ETL, reporting, testing, deployment and ongoing support. We are looking for someone with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across the business. This is a full-time, permanent role based in person, with a salary of £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year.
