AI Adoption Lead

Salary: £50,000 - 50,000 per year

Requirements:

• Hands-on experience using AI and automation tools to improve workflows, including prompt design, automated summarisation or classification
• Experience building automated reporting products and dashboards using tools such as Power BI or Looker Studio
• Ability to interpret qualitative and quantitative insight, identify evidence gaps and produce reports that inform communications
• Experience embedding monitoring tools, such as social listening or reputation tracking, into organisational workflows
• Proven ability to introduce new ways of working across diverse teams and influence senior stakeholders
• Experience producing high-quality guidance and training materials to support sustainable technology adoption
• Experience mentoring or coaching colleagues to build capability and confidence with new tools
• Ability to demonstrate changing and improving, communicating and influencing, and working together
• Ability to travel to other offices as required
• At least 60% office attendance
• A Basic DBS Check is required for this role

Responsibilities:

• Lead practical AI use within communications, aligning activity with wider strategy, governance, standards and risk controls
• Develop AI-enabled tracking, automated dashboards and reusable reporting using Power BI or Looker Studio
• Identify, test and implement AI tools for content creation, drafting, campaign optimisation and evaluation
• Review horizon scanning, social listening, reputation tracking and campaign evaluation, reducing duplication and closing gaps
• Define priority questions, metrics and reporting needs with senior stakeholders, and advise on AI use
• Create end-to-end processes for gathering, triaging, escalating and applying insight to communications planning
• Connect communications, digital, data and internal teams to share good practice and support effective AI use
• Produce guidance, deliver workshops and coach colleagues to build confidence and sustainable adoption
• Create a practical roadmap with milestones and success measures for permanent ownership

We offer an opportunity to shape practical AI adoption across a high-profile communications function by developing tools, workflows and insight products. The role, officially known within the organisation as Communications AI Integration Lead, supports safe and useful AI-enabled ways of working across campaign planning, content, evaluation and social insight. You will work with senior stakeholders and digital, data and communications colleagues. The position is a 12-month fixed-term contract, available full-time or part-time (at least 30 hours per week for part-time roles), with a salary of up to £51,402 per annum pro rata. It is hybrid, with at least 60% of working time in the office and the remainder at home or in the office under a non-contractual arrangement. You may be based at the site closest to your home: Croydon; Leicester or Nottingham; Peterborough; Durham; Birkenhead or Warton; Weymouth, Gloucester or Plymouth; Swansea; Coventry or Telford; or Kingston upon Hull.
