Job Description

Salary: £60,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements:
  • 8+ years of experience in data, analytics, and AI platform architecture, design, and delivery
  • Expertise in AWS cloud-native data and analytics platforms across the data value chain
  • Experience designing scalable platform components for batch and real-time/streaming processing across microservices- and API-driven architectures
  • Experience integrating machine learning, Generative AI, and foundation models into enterprise solutions, including agentic AI approaches
  • Experience implementing data management, security, and governance for public sector and regulated environments, applying responsible AI principles
  • Ability to lead multiple complex areas of work to time, cost, and quality with minimal direction, managing large teams and acting as a key escalation point
  • Ability to partner with and influence senior stakeholders and navigate client delivery environments to achieve programme objectives
  • Experience assessing risk and establishing multidisciplinary teams of subject matter experts to resolve issues
  • Recognised subject matter expertise in driving innovation and market-leading practices across clients and industries
  • Strong understanding of cloud-centric solution design, the full data lifecycle, and MLOps/AIOps
  • Experience mentoring engineers and architects and developing junior team members and client counterparts
  • Must hold active SC clearance; employment is subject to satisfactory BPSS and SC security clearance
  • Must have been resident in the UK for the last five years and not spent more than six consecutive months outside the UK during that period
  • Desirable: experience in the public sector or regulated industries such as government or healthcare
  • Desirable: experience with modern data warehouse and lakehouse ecosystems such as Redshift, Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or Synapse
  • Desirable: familiarity with SQL and Python or Java
  • Desirable: experience with MLOps and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation for data, analytics, and AI services
  • Desirable: strong understanding of CI/CD and modern IT and infrastructure delivery approaches
  • Desirable: cloud platform architecture certification, preferably with a data or AI specialism
  • Desirable: certification in modern data warehouse or AI ecosystems such as Redshift, Snowflake, or Databricks
  • Desirable: experience applying AI or agentic techniques through GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or equivalent
Responsibilities:
  • Shape data and AI capabilities for public sector and regulated clients
  • Set architectural direction, advise senior stakeholders, and lead delivery teams
  • Own complex areas of delivery, combining hands-on architecture with senior leadership
  • Integrate machine learning, Generative AI, and large language models into scalable, secure, and sustainable solutions
  • Lead complex work to agreed time, cost, and quality, managing teams and serving as an escalation point
  • Assess risks and establish multidisciplinary subject matter expert teams to resolve issues
  • Mentor engineers and architects and build capability among junior team members and client counterparts
