User Researcher

Salary: £40,000 - 75,000 per year

• We seek a User Researcher, UX Researcher, or User Experience Researcher with proven experience.
• We require strong qualitative research experience, particularly in interviews and usability testing.
• We require experience working in Agile, multidisciplinary delivery teams.
• We expect the ability to turn research findings into actionable product and service improvements.
• We value strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• We require experience researching complex digital products or services.
• We expect an understanding of accessibility, inclusive design, and diverse user needs.
• Experience in the public sector, financial services, regulated environments, or similarly complex settings is desirable.
• Relevant backgrounds include User Researcher, UX Researcher, Senior User Researcher, UX Research Consultant, User-Centred Design Researcher, Service Designer with strong research experience, Digital Researcher, and Product or Experience Researcher.

Responsibilities:

• We expect our researcher to plan and conduct qualitative and quantitative research, including interviews, contextual research, usability testing, and surveys.
• We expect our researcher to recruit appropriate and representative research participants.
• We expect our researcher to analyse findings and translate insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
• We expect our researcher to test prototypes, user journeys, content, and live services to identify usability issues and opportunities for improvement.
• We expect our researcher to embed research throughout discovery, development, and continuous improvement.
• We expect our researcher to collaborate with Product Managers, Service Designers, Content Designers, Developers, and Business Analysts.
• We expect our researcher to present findings and recommendations to technical and senior stakeholders.
• We expect our researcher to ensure research considers accessibility, inclusion, and the needs of diverse and vulnerable users.
• We expect our researcher to develop research plans, discussion guides, and usability-testing scenarios.
• We expect our researcher to maintain clear documentation and contribute to a shared evidence base.
