User Researcher (Defence)

Salary: £28,000 - 51,000 per year

Requirements:

• UK Defence industry experience
• Active SC clearance
• Expert knowledge and practical application of qualitative and quantitative research methods
• Sound understanding of information architecture, interaction design, and visual design principles
• Demonstrated ability to manage, coach, and develop senior team members and the wider community
• Effective communication skills at all levels
• Excellent commercial awareness
• Strong stakeholder management skills
• Desirable: experience in a full-service digital agency environment
• Desirable: demonstrable knowledge of user-centred design practices
• Desirable: experience with Agile delivery methodologies

Responsibilities:

• Lead, plan, develop, and conduct research activities, applying appropriate methods
• Work with client teams to deliver relevant research plans and strategies
• Design and lead workshops throughout the project lifecycle
• Represent user research across the organisation
• Deliver actionable insights to define service experiences around user needs
• Advocate for needs-based design, design thinking, and service design
• Coach others in design research
• Manage, coach, and develop a small team, including supporting employee performance and career development
