Operations Automation Specialist

Salary: £59,000 - 99,000 per year

Requirements:

• Were looking for field experience at industrial sites and a strong knowledge of automation.
• We value exposure to robot programming and experience with operating systems relevant to the role, such as Robot Operating System (ROS), Linux, or other embedded operating systems.
• We seek experience with systems integration and testing, hardware and software, embedded solutions, networking (Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or cellular), field testing, proof-of-concept deployment, and factory or site acceptance testing (FAT/SAT).
• We value experience with sensor configuration, end-to-end device maintenance and upgrades, data processing, and computer vision or AI/ML.
• Familiarity with intellectual asset management and commercial models for new technology is beneficial.
• Were looking for analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills; attention to detail; strong teamwork; and the ability to work independently, quickly, under pressure, and to deadlines.
• We require a degree, equivalent industry experience, or a relevant qualification. Oil and gas industry experience and familiarity with programming languages are also relevant.
• We value skills in commercial acumen, data analysis and management, data integration, data visualization, digital security, data strategy and governance, and group problem solving.

Responsibilities:

• We work as a team to develop, implement, and test technology solutions involving IIoT, sensors, telemetry, and robotics.
• We understand business requirements and value opportunities, translate business needs into technology requirements, and support vendor technology reviews and recommendations to the appropriate design authority.
• We support solution architecture definitions and ensure compliance throughout project implementation.
• We design and document quality assurance processes and test cycles, run test cycles, and document results, fixes, and upgrades.
• We develop end-to-end technology solutions, prepare and support field tests, and integrate compliant technology with total site infrastructure.
• We deploy products to operational sites, support ongoing development, work with vendors, and provide feedback on issues and development opportunities.
• We install and test software from operating system through to application, and develop and deploy automated testing methods.
• We validate data end to end, from field devices to the cloud, and configure or adapt online dashboards for data display.
• We provide remote support for field installations and operations.
