Solution Architect (AI Workstreams)

Salary: £50,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements:

• Experience in solution or enterprise architecture, including designing and delivering production AI, machine learning, or large-scale distributed systems.
• Hands-on expertise with large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, agentic and orchestration frameworks, and vector databases.
• Strong command of at least one major cloud platform, such as Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure, and of software engineering best practices, APIs, security, and MLOps or LLMOps.
• Working knowledge of AI governance, security, privacy, and Responsible AI practices such as fairness, transparency, and accountability.
• Experience designing and implementing cloud-based applications and services.
• Experience working with technology vendors.
• Experience creating application migration strategies that enable transition away from legacy technologies.
• Workers must operate via an Umbrella or PAYE engagement model.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and delivery of one or more AI initiatives, including agentic AI systems, conversational AI and voice agents, document intelligence platforms, and AI-powered software development lifecycle solutions.
• Provide solution design services for prioritised AI use cases, from early engagement through delivery assurance.
• Design innovative, scalable, stable, and resilient solutions.
• Ensure solutions meet non-functional requirements, including performance, availability, disaster recovery, and observability.
• Contribute to the ownership and evolution of governance and assurance frameworks, standards, and policies to improve design quality and consistency.
• Define high-level transition plans that address gaps between current and future states and align with IT budgeting and planning processes.
• Embed Responsible AI, security, privacy, and regulatory requirements into architecture, including controls, model risk, auditability, and human-in-the-loop measures, working with Risk, Security, and Compliance.
