User Researcher (Defence)

Salary: £61,000 - 101,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require proven experience leading, planning, developing, and conducting research activities, ensuring the right methods are applied.
• We require UK Defence industry experience.
• We require active SC clearance.
• We require expert knowledge and application of qualitative and quantitative research methods.
• We require a sound understanding of information architecture, interaction design, and visual design principles.
• We require experience working closely with client teams to deliver relevant and appropriate research plans and strategies.
• We require experience designing and leading workshops across a project lifecycle.
• We require the ability to represent user research across the organisation.
• We require demonstrated ability in managing, coaching, and developing senior members of a team and wider community.
• We require the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
• We require excellent commercial awareness.
• We require strong stakeholder management skills.
• Desirable: experience working in a full-service digital agency environment.
• Desirable: demonstrable knowledge of user-centred design practices.
• Desirable: experience working with Agile delivery methodologies.

Responsibilities:

• We deliver actionable insights that help define the right service experiences and focus them on user needs.
• We advocate for needs-based design, design thinking, and service design.
• We coach others in design research.
• We manage, coach, and develop a small number of staff, with a focus on employee performance and career development.
• We contribute to our growing Experience Design capability by creating exemplary digital services.
• We work with client teams to develop research plans and strategies.
• We design and lead workshops across the project lifecycle.
• We represent user research across the organisation.
