Back End Developer

Salary: £28,000 - 49,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are seeking highly skilled Golang Engineers with strong engineering fundamentals and deep Golang expertise.
• We require experience building and operating distributed systems at scale.
• We require experience working in modern cloud-native environments.
• We require strong knowledge of resilient microservices and event-driven systems.
• We require experience with high-throughput, mission-critical financial transaction systems.
• We require experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
• We require experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• We require experience with distributed messaging and streaming technologies such as Apache Kafka and RabbitMQ.
• We require experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and BigQuery; Redis is desirable.
• We require familiarity with observability practices, including logging, metrics, tracing, and monitoring.
• We require strong code quality practices, including automated testing and code reviews.

Responsibilities:

• We design, develop, and maintain robust backend services using Golang.
• We build scalable APIs and microservices supporting banking and payment capabilities.
• We develop reusable libraries, frameworks, and engineering standards.
• We participate in system architecture and technical design discussions.
• We ensure code quality through automated testing, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
• We troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues.
• We design and implement distributed systems capable of processing high-throughput financial transactions.
• We optimise system performance, latency, availability, and fault tolerance.
• We implement resilience patterns such as circuit breakers, retry mechanisms, dead-letter queues, bulkheads, and rate limiting.
• We support multi-service platform architectures operating at scale.
• We design and implement event-driven solutions using Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, streaming architectures, and asynchronous processing patterns.
• We develop event producers and consumers supporting business-critical workflows.
• We ensure reliable event delivery, replay strategies, and idempotent processing.
• We build and operate services running within Kubernetes environments.
• We develop and maintain Docker containers.
• We contribute to deployment automation and CI/CD pipelines.
• We collaborate with Platform and SRE teams on scalability, security, and operational excellence.
• We design and optimise data models for relational and NoSQL databases.
• We ensure performance, resilience, and data integrity across services.
• We implement efficient querying, indexing, and transactional processing.
• We promote agile and DevSecOps practices.
• We support observability through logging, metrics, tracing, and monitoring.
• We participate in architecture reviews and engineering governance.
• We mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering communities of practice.
