SysOps Engineer

Salary: £50,000 - 60,000 per year

Requirements:

• Impressive academic credentials, with at least a 2.1 in Computer Science or a closely similar subject from a well-respected university
• Proven ability to learn new skills and quickly solve problems
• Excellent practical knowledge of the Linux operating system
• Experience with deploying and testing software systems including integrated bespoke hardware
• Strong scripting skills with Bash or Python
• Solid understanding of software engineering standard tools such as version control with GitHub
• Existing UK work permission without time limit or sponsorship
• Knowledge of FPGA-based systems, CI/CD infrastructure, Rust, or Verilog would enhance your application

Responsibilities:

• Carry out manual system-level testing to ensure software performance and usability
• Take the lead on the move towards automation
• Deploy finished releases to bespoke FPGA-accelerated Linux systems on-site and overseas
• Tackle emergent issues with deployments
• Characterise and diagnose problems with the software itself
• Provide some out-of-hours support from time to time
