Senior ILS / Senior Supportability Engineer

Salary: £60,000 - 60,000 per year

Requirements:

• Typically, a Bachelor Degree or equivalent in a related field
• Experience in a range of roles within a relevant complex engineering environment
• May be required to maintain security clearance
• Ability to undergo Baseline Personnel Security Standard Check (BPSS) as a minimum
• Some roles will require further national security vetting checks
• Ability to provide evidence of identity, eligibility to work in the UK, and employment and/or education history for up to three years
• Some vacancies may require full Security Clearance

Responsibilities:

• Apply sound engineering judgement to ensure products are developed to be supportable
• Develop the support solution and acquire the necessary resources for support
• Help shape the design for support and develop the support solution architecture
• Tailor the scope and scale of ILS activities to meet the User, Customer, and our requirements
• Work collaboratively with designers to improve reliability, maintainability, and usability aspects of our designs
• Provide input to the development of the optimum support solution for each customer within the context of a wider product and capability roadmap
• Complete life cycle cost analyses, level of repair analyses, sparing analyses, and failure modes and effects analyses
• Elicit and derive support requirements and propose verification methods for requirements
• Develop supportability cases and conduct analyses to provide progressive assurance of support solutions
• Perform reliability modelling and undertake maintainability analysis to optimize support arrangements
• Assess the human element of systems, including the potential for human error as a contributor to system failures
• Prepare, or provide input to, technical manuals such as troubleshooting guides or operations and maintenance manuals
• Assist with the identification and mitigation of hazards through system hazard analysis
• Formulate and implement the obsolescence strategy for a product line
• Support the continuous improvement of processes, policies, and procedures
