Senior Python Developer - London

Requirements:

• Strong commercial Python development experience
• At least a couple of years experience working within a finance environment
• Experience building enterprise-scale applications
• Financial Services / Banking experience
• Comfortable working within Agile engineering teams
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Experience across Trading, Front Office technology, Regulatory Technology, security-focused development or AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot would be beneficial, but is not essential
• An interest in how AI is changing software engineering and modern development practices is more important than being an AI specialist

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with engineering and business stakeholders to design, build and enhance Python applications
• Support a mixture of markets, regulatory and front-office technology
• Contribute to AI-assisted development tooling, security-focused applications and new proof of concept initiatives depending on the team
• Take ownership of our work and communicate well with stakeholders
• Contribute beyond simply picking up development tickets in a fast-paced, engineering-led environment

We are hiring Senior Python Developers for multiple long-term opportunities within a major Financial Services technology environment, supporting significant investment across trading, regulatory and enterprise engineering platforms. This role is based in London with a hybrid arrangement of 3 days per week in the office. The initial contract option is 12 months at £700/day inside IR35, with permanent opportunities up to £100,000 and 12-month FTC options up to £120,000 also available. We are looking for experienced Python developers who want to work on business-critical applications in a complex banking environment and contribute to a sizeable programme with genuine investment in technology.
