Product Owner

Salary: £39,000 - 73,000 per year

Requirements:

• We need at least three years in the energy sector or another complex, regulated industry.
• We need a track record in product ownership or product delivery, with a solid grasp of Agile, Scrum, or PRINCE2 in practice.
• We need confidence working between technical and commercial teams, and the judgement to prioritise when competing initiatives all feel urgent.
• We need experience producing clear technical and operational documentation that delivery teams can use.
• We need the ability to hold our ground with senior stakeholders when the data says something different to the opinion in the room.

Responsibilities:

• We own the product vision, roadmap, and delivery outcomes across our Virtual Power Plant platform and Customer Success journey.
• We prioritise the backlog, plan sprints, and define clear acceptance criteria.
• We translate regulatory complexity, commercial pressure, and technical constraints into actionable decisions for delivery teams.
• We set and maintain the product roadmap for VPP and Customer Success, aligned to revenue, efficiency, and Energy Partner experience.
• We refine the backlog and lead sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives to give delivery teams clarity on business value.
• We build a streamlined, compliant Energy Partner journey across onboarding, asset enablement, settlement, and analytics.
• We work across Engineering, Commercial, IT, Data, and Operations to turn requirements into deliverables that ship.
• We maintain governance and reporting that gives clear visibility of progress, risk, and value delivered.
• We support new products and features as they move from delivery into business-as-usual operation.

Based in central Edinburgh, we offer flexible working arrangements agreed directly with the team, a salary of 48,000 - 52,000 plus bonus, and a benefits package to be confirmed. This role reports to the Product Director and gives the successful candidate direct influence over two core product streams at the heart of our business, with real scope for progression and the chance to shape how we create value for our customers and markets.
