Senior Software Engineer C# .Net - Newcastle upon Tyne

Salary: £40,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements:

• Minimum 2.1 BSc in Computer Science or a similar technical discipline from a top tier / Russel Group university, backed by As at A-level
• Expertise with modern C# and .Net development
• Strong knowledge of software architecture, distributed systems, and engineering best practices
• Deep understanding of Computer Science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, object-oriented design, and system design
• Collaborative approach and genuine enthusiasm for solving difficult technical problems
• Ability to take ownership of significant technical initiatives and influence engineering direction
• Experience with Python, data-intensive systems, or financial technology environments would be advantageous but is not essential

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop business-critical backend services using modern C# and .Net
• Work on distributed systems that process large volumes of data with demanding performance and reliability requirements
• Be involved throughout the software lifecycle, from technical design and architecture through to implementation, optimisation, and production delivery
• Collaborate closely with colleagues to build elegant, robust software
• Debating technical approaches and continuously improving systems and engineering practices
• Take ownership of significant technical initiatives and influence engineering direction
