Junior Cloud Reliability Engineer

Salary: £18,000 - 46,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require candidates to be based, or willing to relocate, within a comfortable commuting distance of our Cambridge office to attend onsite as required.
• We require the permanent right to work in the UK, with no visa sponsorship available now or in the future.
• You should be comfortable working in a Linux terminal environment and writing bash scripts.
• You should be familiar with at least one programming language such as Python.
• You should have a solid understanding of networking concepts and the OSI model.
• You should have a genuine problem-solving mindset and enjoy working through complex issues.
• You should have good communication skills and a desire to keep learning.
• Prior infrastructure or SRE experience is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• We help support the backend infrastructure powering RuneScape, Old School RuneScape, and RuneScape: Dragonwilds.
• We learn our backend infrastructure, including game world systems, networking, build pipelines, version control, data center hardware, and cloud infrastructure.
• We handle day-to-day support requests and troubleshoot issues across our live systems, escalating quickly when needed and following up to understand the root cause.
• We support development teams in managing cloud-native workloads and consuming our cloud platform through Infrastructure-as-Code.
• We contribute to the management of our Linux virtual machine fleet, including monitoring, configuration management, and workload optimisation.
• We participate in incident response and post-mortems to improve resilience.
