Junior Software Engineer - Index Analytics and Technology

Salary: £42,500 - 70,500 per year

Requirements:

• Previous experience of working within Investment Management or finance is preferable, although we will also consider candidates with proven programming skills from other industries.
• Demonstrable knowledge of a variety of asset classes, with a focus on index is preferable.
• Ability to identify potential issues and resolve them creatively.
• Proactive in solving problems and taking initiative, and keen to learn and develop technical skills.
• Proven knowledge of Python, pandas, and OOP.
• SQL is essential.
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL and Snowflake is desirable.
• Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and ensuring smooth deployments and application reliability.
• Experience with git, GitHub, and GitHub CoPilot.
• Exposure to JavaScript and flask / fastAPI is helpful.

Responsibilities:

• Provide support on and carry out development on various in-house fund management tools that assist Fund Managers and Senior Fund Managers in the management of funds.
• Analyse and attribute portfolio performance.
• Automate processes and proactively solve issues for internal stakeholders.
• Support data pipelines for wider use across the department.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and help ensure smooth deployments and application reliability.
