Backend Software Engineer Python AWS Trading

Salary: £40,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements:

• Advanced backend Python development skills
• Strong knowledge of AWS, DevOps practices, CI/CD, and containerisation
• Comfort with occasional front-end work
• Experience owning the end-to-end software delivery lifecycle
• Proactive approach to identifying and solving problems
• Experience working in Front Office trading environments
• Pragmatic with great communication skills

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop high-performance trading systems and cloud infrastructure supporting Front, Middle, and Back Office operations
• Work closely with traders, investment professionals, and business stakeholders to turn complex requirements into scalable, resilient technology
• Take ownership of projects from architecture and design through to deployment
• Build secure, highly available systems capable of processing significant volumes of market and trading data
• Help drive engineering best practice, automation, DevOps, and cloud adoption
• Influence the technical direction of the team and continuously improve the platform
