Lead Engineer, Enterprise Applications

Salary: £63,000 - 103,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require deep technical experience in identity and access management.
• We require production application services support experience across Windows and Linux operating systems.
• We require repeated examples of success in a senior-level technical position.
• We value strong familiarity with Windows/Linux, multi-tier web applications, middleware, containers, databases, networking, and Citrix/VDI.
• We value familiarity with public and private cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, GCP, and VMware virtualized systems.
• We value knowledge of source control management and CI/CD.
• We value a good understanding of application architecture and databases.
• We prefer knowledge of Java, .NET, and Python.
• We value networking architecture understanding, including F5 and HAProxy.

Responsibilities:

• We diagnose and resolve complex application issues to ensure optimal performance and usability.
• We coordinate with department heads to identify and fix issues.
• We provide 24x7 on-call support on a rotational basis.
• We monitor application performance to measure uptime and downtime and improve availability and performance.
• We manage and resolve technical issues, provide incident reports, and follow issues through to resolution.
• We conduct regular reviews of systems to ensure application health, security, and availability.
• We collaborate with IT and development teams to implement software projects and update applications as required.
• We document procedures and practices in a clear and concise manner.
• We monitor, measure, and support the performance, availability, security, recovery, and throughput of application services.
• We oversee the operational integrity of tools, systems, and infrastructure, including technical or process changes that could impact application services.
