Sr Lead Software Engineer - Charing Cross

Salary: £100,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements:

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10 years applied experience
• Understanding of IPv4 networking, including the OSI model, unicast/broadcast/multicast, routing, and network segregation mechanisms
• Extensive experience with configuration management, preferably Chef or Ansible
• Experience developing or leading cross-functional teams of technologists
• Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
• Experience leading a product as a Product Owner or Product Manager
• Practical cloud native experience
• Expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
• Mentoring SRE and partner teams on automation best practices, technical thought process, and modern infrastructure management
• Linux administration, performance tuning, and benchmarking for low-latency electronic trading, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux
• Performing research, development, and risk analysis related to the role
• Understanding of standard cryptography, including certificates, key pairs, and communication
• Experience with database management systems, preferably PostgreSQL

Responsibilities:

• Lead technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectives
• Work directly with Lines of Business to understand and address their needs and challenges within the compute space in a low-latency electronic trading environment
• Direct strategies for server hardware platform, server and OS tuning, automation, and infrastructure application lifecycle management
• Serve as design authority for the compute infrastructure application stack, including build and configuration management, and log and metric aggregation
• Interface with hardware and software vendors on product roadmaps and the next generation of electronic trading platform infrastructure
• Make decisions that influence team resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures
• Carry governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations
• Deliver technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains
• Influence peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams

• Provide guidance and mentorship to partner technical teams
