Lead Software Engineer - Client Onboarding - Glasgow
Job Description
Salary: £62,000 - 102,000 per year
Requirements:- We require formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and advanced applied experience.
- We require proficiency in Java development with J2EE server technologies, including Web Services, Spring, ORM frameworks, XML, Enterprise Java Beans, and JMS.
- We require proficiency in React and UI technologies, including HTML5 and JavaScript.
- We require working knowledge of CI/CD and build tooling such as Jenkins, TeamCity, and Maven.
- We require working knowledge of design patterns, UML, and object-oriented concepts.
- We require working knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
- We require working knowledge of source control management tools such as Bitbucket or equivalent.
- We require hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment, with the ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- We require understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations.
- We require the ability to collaborate within a team and build effective working relationships.
- We require effective written and verbal communication skills.
- We prefer working knowledge of Angular.
- We prefer working knowledge of AWS or equivalent cloud technologies.
- We design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software and new product capabilities.
- We collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver outcomes aligned to business needs.
- We communicate development progress, risks, and dependencies to our team and key stakeholders.
- We apply Agile practices to support iterative delivery and continuous improvement.
- We implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support reliable builds and deployments.
- We use sound object-oriented design and common design patterns to create scalable solutions.
- We produce clear technical documentation and support knowledge sharing across our team.
- We contribute to code quality through reviews, testing practices, and defect resolution.
- We drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes.
- We apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.
