Sr. UX Designer

Salary: £60,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements:

• Degree or equivalent, and typically 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience conducting user research using interviews, surveys, observational studies, and usability evaluations.
• Strong ability to translate research insights into personas, journey maps, and actionable design recommendations.
• Hands-on experience creating wireframes, prototypes, and user flows using tools such as Figma.
• Solid understanding of UX design principles, usability heuristics, and accessibility standards.
• Demonstrated ability to run usability tests, analyse results, and iterate designs based on evidence.
• Experience collaborating with product managers, developers, and UI designers in agile or cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication skills for presenting research findings, design rationale, and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Ability to work with data analytics, such as heatmaps, behavioural analytics, and conversion metrics, to support UX decisions.
• Familiarity with information architecture, content structure, and interaction patterns across digital platforms.
• Familiarity with the implementation of AI and machine learning applications within a software platform, including relevant efficacy testing, oversight, and governance requirements.
• Familiarity with Sketch or Adobe XD.
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to balance user needs, technical constraints, and business objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Own the quantitative research programmes used to understand user needs, behaviours, and pain points.
• Use interviews, surveys, observations, and other research methods to gather insights that guide product direction and support user-centred decision-making.
• Generate wireframes, user flows, and prototypes that translate research findings into intuitive digital experiences.
• Ensure all product and feature designs follow usability principles, accessibility standards, and align with our overall product vision.
• Lead the design of user experiences in software that enable machine learning and AI-powered features.
• Own the planning and execution of usability tests to evaluate design effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, software engineers, and UI designers to ensure UX requirements are clearly defined, technically feasible, and accurately implemented throughout development.
• Own the ongoing production of UX documentation, design specifications, journey maps, and research summaries.
• Regularly communicate with a variety of stakeholders, promoting design rationale and advocating for user-centred practices across our organisation.
