Mandarin Speaking IT Junior Engineer
Job Description
Salary: £25,000 - 50,500 per year
Requirements:- We require you to be fluent in both Mandarin and English, spoken and written.
- We require solid experience in infrastructure planning and implementation, server room management, virtualization platforms, network and storage administration, system monitoring, asset management, disaster recovery planning, and IT security compliance.
- We require experience with Microsoft Server and desktop operating systems, including Windows Server 2019 and Windows 10/11.
- We require experience with core Microsoft infrastructure technologies and solutions, including Exchange, Active Directory, RDS, and DFS.
- We require experience with virtualization technologies, including VMware and vSphere.
- We require experience with backup technologies such as Veeam, Backup Exec, System Recovery, Endpoint Protection, and LTO.
- We require experience in server hardware maintenance and troubleshooting.
- We require experience with hardware firewalls, router configuration, switching, and system/network monitoring.
- We require professional certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, MCITP, VMware Certified Professional, or CCNA/CCNP.
- We conduct IT infrastructure management, production operations management, IT asset management, business continuity management, disaster recovery, network management, vendor and third-party management, and IT project-related tasks, and we provide Tier 2 IT support.
- We work with the IT Infrastructure Manager to ensure the smooth running of IT services in the Bank.
- We ensure network maintenance is carried out in accordance with our parent banks instructions and local regulator requirements.
- We perform maintenance and changes to IT infrastructure and systems, ensuring performance and capacity meet business development needs and system stability.
- We compile operations and management procedures, review them regularly, and make necessary changes to ensure thorough implementation of IT policies.
- We support the Banks IT Disaster Recovery policy and keep the policy and procedures up to date.
- We support core network security reviews and ensure appropriate security across our core network and desktops.
- We maintain and support the operation of IT systems and applications.
- We draft IT manuals, procedures, and guidelines for production management, including IT infrastructure and IT systems hardware and software.
- We plan IT infrastructure and systems based on departmental demand analysis and forecasting to ensure capacity and performance meet business needs.
- We manage the server room, physical servers, virtual machine platforms, and power supply systems such as generators and UPS.
- We manage IT assets including servers, network devices, storage servers, PCs, laptops, video conferencing equipment, landlines, hardware and software inventory, and configuration management, and we produce relevant reports.
- We implement and maintain IT infrastructure and systems including servers, storage, network devices, backup systems, Active Directory, WSUS, UPS, power systems, phones, printers, and virtual system platforms such as vCenter, ESXi, VMware, and Citrix.
- We monitor systems and resolve issues as they arise.
- We work with the IT Infrastructure Manager to implement the security programme for computer and telecommunications systems and manage access for authorised users.
- We work with the IT Infrastructure Manager to formulate disaster recovery plans and arrange relevant tests to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- We liaise with Head Office and the Data Centre regarding IT systems tasks and prepare reports for them.

We are a bank based in Central London offering a fully office-based permanent role with a competitive salary depending on experience. The position reports to the Deputy Head of IT and has an immediate start. We also note that the working hours are 9am to 5pm.
