Senior Network Security Consultant

Salary: £60,000 - 75,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for someone already operating at senior level within network security, such as Senior Network Security Engineer, Network Security Consultant, Senior Network & Security Engineer or Network Security Architect level.
• We need strong networking fundamentals alongside detailed experience across enterprise firewalls, LAN/WAN, VPN, SD-WAN and modern network security architecture.
• We want experience designing solutions, leading implementations and taking technical ownership of customer projects.
• Experience within an MSP, ISP, network integrator or consultancy would translate particularly well.
• You need to be comfortable gathering requirements, producing technical designs, presenting solutions to customers and remaining involved through implementation and ongoing support.
• Experience around security compliance frameworks and public-sector environments would be useful, as would exposure to SIEM, SOAR, XDR and infrastructure automation.
• We are looking for someone who can get into the detail when needed, communicate confidently with customers and be the person other engineers turn to when things get complicated.

Responsibilities:

• We will ask you to design, implement and support network security solutions across complex customer environments.
• You will work with enterprise firewalls, LAN/WAN, VPNs, SD-WAN, ZTNA, SASE, authentication and wider network security technologies.
• You will lead technical projects through their lifecycle, producing detailed designs and implementation plans and taking responsibility for successful delivery.
• You will work closely with customers and our commercial team at the pre-sales stage, gathering requirements, designing solutions and presenting them back to the customer.
• You will act as a senior technical escalation point and provide ongoing technical ownership for nominated customers.
• You will carry out customer security audits and health checks and make recommendations to improve existing environments.
• You will help develop other engineers through technical mentoring, knowledge sharing and internal training.
• You will work with business-critical environments, including an out-of-hours/on-call element and occasional planned maintenance.

We are a growing specialist network and connectivity business that designs, builds and supports complex network environments for large organisations across the UK. This is a hands-on consultancy role with genuine technical ownership, covering architecture, customer strategy and technical direction rather than a traditional 3rd line support position. We offer a base salary of £60-75k, 25 days holiday, private healthcare, a twice-yearly bonus and funded professional qualifications and certifications. The role is remote within the UK, with occasional travel to customer sites and our company offices as required.
