Application Management Services Lead

Salary: £55,000 - 95,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for significant experience in Application Management Services or Managed Services roles.
• We need extensive experience working with UK public sector clients, including central government, local government, health, or arms-length bodies.
• You must hold or be eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC).
• We need a strong understanding of public sector procurement processes, including RFI, RFP, ITT, and framework-based buying.
• You should have proven experience in AMS solutioning and estimation, pre-sales support, bid leadership, service transition, mobilisation, delivery governance, and assurance.
• We need someone who can operate comfortably at multiple levels, from CxO stakeholders to L2/L3 engineers.
• You should be able to adapt your communication style for technical, operational, and executive audiences.
• We need solid knowledge of ITIL-based service management principles.
• You should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including senior client presentations.
• We need strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Desirable: experience with UK public sector frameworks such as G-Cloud, DOS, and Technology Services frameworks.
• Desirable: familiarity with ERP platforms such as SAP or Oracle, bespoke and COTS applications such as Salesforce or MS Dynamics, and integration and middleware platforms.
• Desirable: experience with service management tools such as ServiceNow.
• Desirable: experience working in a matrixed or global delivery model.

Responsibilities:

• We act as the AMS subject matter expert for public sector opportunities.
• We support qualification of AMS opportunities with sales and account teams.
• We lead responses to RFIs, RFPs, and ITTs, including written responses and bid reviews.
• We design AMS solutions covering service scope, support models, operating models, tooling, automation, service management, security, compliance, and public sector standards.
• We develop cost models, estimates, and pricing aligned to commercial and margin targets.
• We present solutions to clients, lead solution walkthroughs, and support commercial negotiations.
• We work closely with delivery teams to mobilise and transition new AMS engagements.
• We define service governance, SLAs, KPIs, and reporting.
• We establish service management processes aligned to ITIL.
• We ensure operating models meet public sector requirements, including data protection, security, and compliance.
• We provide ongoing delivery assurance across AMS engagements.
• We chair or support service governance forums with clients.
• We act as an escalation point for service, commercial, or delivery risks.
• We ensure contractual commitments, SLAs, and outcomes are consistently met.
• We support resource planning and mobilisation for AMS engagements.
• We work with delivery leadership to identify skills gaps and capability needs.
• We contribute to reusable AMS assets, accelerators, and best practices.
