Semantic AI/ML Architect

Salary: £48,000 - 68,000 per year

Requirements:

• We have strong hands-on proficiency with OWL and RDF for ontology modelling, as well as SPARQL for querying graph data.
• We have practical experience building or maintaining knowledge graphs or linked data systems in an enterprise setting.
• We have a solid understanding of data modelling principles, data architecture, and integrating heterogeneous data sources.
• We can abstract real-world entities into a semantic schema and map relational or NoSQL data to an ontology.
• We are proficient in at least one programming or scripting language such as Python or Java.
• We have familiarity with metadata standards and vocabularies such as Dublin Core, schema.org, or other industry-specific ontologies and taxonomies.
• We have experience working on projects involving AI agents or large language models where ontologies or knowledge graphs improved AI performance.
• We have proven experience integrating semantic technologies into existing enterprise systems or data platforms.
• We have hands-on experience with ontology and knowledge graph tools.
• We have excellent English skills at C1 Advanced level.

Responsibilities:

• We design, develop, and maintain ontologies using OWL, RDF, or similar technologies.
• We build and manage enterprise knowledge graphs based on defined ontologies, linking diverse data sources into a unified graph data model.
• We create and optimize SPARQL queries, endpoints, and semantic search and analytics use cases.
• We implement semantic validation rules and consistency checks using SHACL or OWL constraints to ensure data integrity and quality.
• We work closely with software engineers, data architects, and IT teams to integrate semantic models into the organizations data infrastructure and workflows.
• We collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, including AI/ML teams, business analysts, and data stewards.
• We communicate semantic concepts to non-technical stakeholders and provide training or documentation to support adoption.
• We work with AI agents and LLM teams to apply ontologies and knowledge graphs in intelligent applications.
• We stay current with semantic web standards, tools, and best practices and contribute to internal guidelines for semantic data management.
