Embedded Software Engineer

Salary: £55,000 - 65,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for an experienced Embedded Electronics / Firmware Engineer with a strong combination of embedded software and electronics knowledge.
• We would ideally like experience with Embedded C and C++.
• We would ideally like experience with RTOS / FreeRTOS.
• We would ideally like experience with ARM Cortex-M, STM32, ESP32, NXP or similar microcontrollers.
• We would ideally like experience with embedded systems and MCU/MPU development.
• We would ideally like experience with hardware and system-level debugging.
• We would ideally like experience with PCB and schematic design.
• We would ideally like experience with analogue and digital electronics.
• We would ideally like experience with communication protocols including SPI, I2C, UART, USB, CAN or Ethernet.
• Experience with embedded cybersecurity, encryption, secure coding, Altium, automated testing or CI/CD would be particularly beneficial.

Responsibilities:

• We will develop real-time embedded firmware in C/C++.
• We will lead embedded architecture and system-level design.
• We will work with microcontrollers including ARM Cortex-M, STM32, ESP32, NXP or similar.
• We will configure and optimise RTOS environments.
• We will develop peripheral drivers including SPI, I2C, UART, USB and Ethernet.
• We will handle board bring-up, bootloader development and hardware debugging.
• We will support schematic design, PCB development and hardware validation.
• We will work with analogue and digital electronic circuits.
• We will support secure, reliable embedded system development.
• We will conduct technical and design reviews.
• We will mentor less experienced engineers.
• We will collaborate with hardware, software, production and technical teams.
