Software Engineer, Developer, Backend – Java – Identity IAM

Requirements:

• 8+ years working with backend technologies, including Java and Java frameworks
• Web development experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD and version control
• Experience in security and identity management (IAM)
• Experience with monitoring and logging
• Experience with relational databases
• Experience with server-side technologies
• Experience working in Agile environments
• Desirable: networking knowledge, including subnets, firewalls, load balancing, and VPN configurations
• Desirable: problem-solving and debugging skills
• Desirable: familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly GCP

Responsibilities:

• Design and build high-scale backend services
• Serve as a technical lead and help upskill the team in modern, industry-leading application development
• Ensure the platform is secure and resilient
• Leverage our expertise to raise the teams technical standards and foster a culture of excellence in backend engineering

Our Identity Management Services team is focused on the core platform work that powers identity infrastructure. This is a contract role until the end of December 2026, renewable, based in our Essex offices between Brentwood and Basildon, with a requirement to work on-site four days a week. The rate is £600 per day inside IR35.
