TechOps Lead

Salary: £60,000 - 60,000 per year

Requirements:

• We have 6+ years of experience in IT support, infrastructure, or technical operations.
• We have proven experience managing or leading a technical team.
• We have experience working with distributed systems or multi-site environments.
• We have strong networking knowledge, including IP, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, and firewalls.
• We have experience with routers, switches, and firewalls.
• We have exposure to IoT, CCTV, ANPR, or similar infrastructure, which is advantageous.

Responsibilities:

• We own the technical operations function end to end.
• We lead, mentor, and line manage a team of TechOps engineers.
• We set clear expectations, run 1:1s, and drive performance standards.
• We define and document workflows, escalation paths, and SOPs.
• We own and optimise the service desk and ticketing pipeline.
• We report on performance metrics, trends, and improvements.
• We own monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify issues.
• We manage the lifecycle of IoT and edge devices across multiple sites.
• We drive preventative maintenance strategies.
• We lead root-cause analysis and post-incident reviews.
• We maintain accurate asset inventory and ensure compliance standards.
• We manage site network infrastructure, including routers, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, and related systems.
• We standardise configurations and maintain documentation.
• We troubleshoot end-to-end system workflows across hardware and software.
• We act as the escalation point for complex technical issues.
• We recommend and implement infrastructure improvements.
• We lead technical delivery of new site deployments.
• We oversee network design, hardware setup, and system configuration.
• We support remote commissioning and technical validation before go-live.
