Lead DevOps Engineer

Salary: £100,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong experience in DevOps practices and methodologies
• Proficiency in cloud services, especially AWS
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Python, and database technologies such as MariaDB, MySQL, and Postgres
• Proven leadership skills and experience in team management
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to platform improvement
• Capacity to balance technical work with team development and culture shaping

Responsibilities:

• Modernise and improve the cloud platform
• Manage and lead a small DevOps team
• Split time between hands-on engineering tasks and leadership activities
• Work collaboratively to enhance automation across the platform
• Drive the development of a healthy DevOps culture within the team
• Solve technical problems to improve platform functionality in production

We are a growing online retailer seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer / Platform Engineering Manager to help modernise our cloud platform, which has been evolving for the past decade. We have built a successful product and a strong engineering team and are now ready to take our platform to the next phase. This role offers a balance of hands-on engineering and leadership opportunities and includes hybrid working with two days per week in our London office.
