Sr Lead Software Engineer UI Developer React

Salary: £62,000 - 102,000 per year

Requirements:

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Demonstrated experience leading effective use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment, with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations
• Experience coaching senior engineers and leads on compliant usage patterns and controls
• Advanced in one or more programming languages
• Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines, such as cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile
• Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
• Practical cloud native experience
• Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
• Expertise in React 17+ and modern front-end development practices
• Experience with AG Grid or similar advanced data grid libraries
• Proven ability to optimize web applications for performance and responsiveness
• Familiarity with handling high-frequency data updates in UI applications
• Strong understanding of application profiling and tuning techniques
• Knowledge of AI integration or cloud technologies, especially AWS
• Experience working in fast-paced, agile environments within financial services

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical guidance and direction to support our business, technical teams, contractors, and vendors
• Develop secure and high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others
• Drive adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices across our teams to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes
• Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including approved AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation at scale
• Drive decisions that influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
• Serve as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
• Contribute to our engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Influence peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
