Solutions Architect - Defence Systems

Salary: £100,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements:

• Active SC clearance.
• Strong experience in systems architecture, design and integration within complex enterprise environments.
• Experience working across Defence, Government, secure or highly regulated environments.
• Ability to translate solution designs into detailed technical architectures, including interfaces, components and data flows.
• Technical knowledge across systems such as ERP, COTS platforms, bespoke applications, data platforms or similar.
• Understanding of integration patterns, such as APIs, message queues and system-to-system data exchange.
• Strong knowledge of system performance, scalability, security and resilience.
• Experience defining technical standards, governance and assurance processes.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience leading technical workstreams or small project teams.
• A relevant technical degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Active DV clearance is desirable.
• Knowledge of Defence architecture frameworks such as MODAF is desirable.
• Experience with cloud-native architectures, microservices or containerisation is desirable.
• TOGAF or other enterprise architecture certifications are desirable.
• Experience with secure system design or cybersecurity principles is desirable.
• Experience contributing to bids, proposals or technical transformation opportunities is desirable.
• Understanding of project and programme delivery disciplines is desirable.

Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver system architectures for complex Defence programmes.
• Define system specifications, interface control documents, data models and detailed technical designs.
• Translate high-level solution designs into practical, deliverable system architectures.
• Assess existing systems, identify technical gaps and recommend architectural improvements.
• Provide technical leadership to development, engineering and delivery teams.
• Manage technical workstreams or smaller projects focused on system design, integration and implementation.
• Support architecture governance, assurance and technical standards.
• Build trusted relationships with client stakeholders as a credible technical advisor.
• Mentor and support junior team members.

We are seeking experienced Systems Architects to help design, integrate and deliver complex systems that support critical Defence transformation initiatives. This is a high-impact hybrid role based in London, Bristol, Reading or Southampton, with a cash package of £65,000 to £110,000 and strong opportunities for development and progression within our highly experienced technology team.
